Vehicle info:
To To bring your vehicle into The Hatchet Landings you must have the proper vehicle hang tag hung from your rear view mirror. The hang tag must remain visible at all times. Each hang tag is numbered and assigned to the individual who purchased it. Upon arriving to Hatchet Landings security will check each vehicle in, so please don't' forget your hang tag at home! Security will tear the perforated part of the ticket and check your ID so please make sure the name on your ID matches the person who purchased the vehicle pass. Once your vehicle is parked at your campsite it MUST stay during the entire duration of the event. You CANNOT drive around the grounds.
No motorized vehicles will be permitted into the festival grounds (this includes but is not limited to: golf carts, ATV's, motor scooters, 4 wheelers, and powered skateboards). The use of bicycles (dirt, mountain, etc) is highly recommended and welcomed as an alternative way to get around the grounds of the Hatchet Landings.
Give me the run down on the balla site?
The site is approximately 25x50. You get one (1) 30 amp plug to plug in your RV and there is one (1) 20 amp plug which is what you would find in your home that you can plug a surge protector in giving you up to, but no more, than ten extra outlets. There is a water spicket which you will share with a few of your surrounding Big Balla Neighbors. It allows you to park one vehicle of any size (no 18 wheelers) on your site. Now, let's say you have a friend who also purchased a car pass. If you both can fit your vehicles in your area then you can do that. If you you want to take up your entire space with nothing but tents, then that's great, too. What it comes down to is that if you can find the space and you are safe then you are free to camp on your Big Balla site how you see fit.
How far is parking from the grounds? And with the car passes is it like previous years where when we park we can't leave?
Parking is extra fresh this year. Not only is the main parking site RIGHT THERE, but in case that gets a bit too overloaded there is a back up parking lots RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET. Car passes are just like last year, if you bring your car to your site that is where it sits the entire weekend. This is for the safety of yourself and those around you.
Is my stuff going to be safe in my tent?
You have to realize that if you put your valuables in your tent, the only thing keeping someone from rummaging through them is a thin piece of material and a zipper. NO. Your stuff will probably not be safe in your tent. Your best bet is to keep any important items on you or in your car. We can't put it out there enough; the parking lot is practically a 30 second walk from the campsites this year. It will be very easy for you to go back and forth to get your things.
Are tents provided?
No. You must bring everything that you need for camping (tents, pillows, blankets, etc.).
How many people can stay on one campsite?
If you want to bunk up with your buddies in one tent then that's fine, just don't push the limits of safety and comfort. The important thing to realize this year is that because camping is free and each person is allowed to pop their own tent anywhere in the camping areas, you don't have to pile people into tents because you could instead set up multiple tents in any area so that everyone is comfortable but still together.
Is camping pre-assigned or first come first served?
It is first come first served. Camping is free with the purchase of your Gathering of the Juggalos ticket. There are no designated campsites and you are free to set up your tent where you see fit. The only actual sites are the Big Balla campsites.
Can my ride drop me off in the parking lot?
There is no problem with your ride dropping you off in the parking lot.
Can I sleep in my car?
If you are so inclined you may sleep in your car. If you would like to park your car on the campgrounds you must have at least a car pass (no pass is needed for the parking lot). YOU MAY NOT SLEEP IN YOUR CAR WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLED UP. There is simply too much danger of dehydration, suffocation and heatstroke to allow sleeping in cars with closed windows. You can sleep in em if you keep the windows open, even if it's just a few inches, so you should bring some mosquito netting, bug spray, or Citronella to keep the bugs away.
Can we bring generators?
Yes.
Are we allowed to bring alcohol if we are 21 and have a valid ID? If so, how much can we bring?
You can bring your own alcohol. That's not a problem. Just make sure you don't bring your own 7-11 along, meaning you shouldn't be rolling up with a keg (kegs are RESTRICTED) or an overly excessive amount of alcohol. Just bring a personal supply for yourself and make sure there is NO GLASS.
No glass?
NO GLASS. There is NO glass allowed at the Gathering.
Will there be showers and bathrooms?
Yes.
What are some good things to bring to the Gathering?
A Juggalo in the wild should be prepared. Some things you can pack that might help you out during the weekend include:
*Camping gear (tent, flashlights, sleeping bags, rain gear, etc.)
*Cameras and Video Recorders
*Backpacks and travel bags to carry stuff in
*Bug spray and bug torches
*Cell phones and communicators
*Water bottles and canteens
*Ninja suits, costumes of any kind
*Face paint
*Juggalo Pride
Is there an age limit?
All ages are welcome at the Gathering, but everyone no matter how young or old must have a ticket.
What's the deal with cameras and video recorders?
It's the same as the previous years. Bring your recording devices along and capture as many memories as you can, but they will NOT be allowed during CONCERTS. If we see you filming the concerts we will be more then happy to relieve you of your camera and film and we will NOT BE RETURNING THEM. Any of the footage you get can be used for school or your own personal use, but attempting to use it for profit is strictly forbidden and will be dealt with swiftly.
Can I bring my grill?
Yes. Just be safe!
I am in a wheelchair. Will I be able to get around and all that shit there?
The grounds of the Gathering are basically flat and level enough to make a wheelchair possible to use at the event. There are some decent distances involved, and while the ground does drain well it is possible (though unlikely) for things to get mushy in spots that might make a wheelchair difficult. You should be prepared to deal with those aspects, but otherwise, wheelchairs are just fine at the Gathering. Typically we save a space for handicapped guests for the concerts to make it easier to deal with as well.
