The rules for 2004 are pretty much the same as last year, and as anyone who made it in '03 can attest, they do not affect the level of devastation the Gathering can acheive. They are simply to insure that everyone has a good time and stays safe & legal. We ask that you respect The Crystal Forest by obeying all the rules described below, and to do your part to help make sure others are as well. Also, we ask that you help keep the campground clean by using trashcans.
1: No swimming when a lifeguard is not on duty. Swimming hours are from 10am to 7pm, daily. Anyone caught swimming at night will be expelled from The Crystal Forest.
2: No fishing in Lotus Lake (fishing is allowed in Shadow Lake and Oracle Pond).
3: The speed limit while in The Crystal Forest and Parking Lot is 5 mph. For safety concerns, once a car is parked at a campsite in The Crystal Forest it may not be driven around or inside The Crystal Forest, nor may it leave and return. This extremely important rule is necessary to maintain safety, and will be strictly enforced. The only exception is for emergencies.
4: No cutting of trees, dead or alive, or damaging plant growth ($500 fine).
5: Anyone hurting the wild animals, amphibious creatures, or birds will be thrown in jail and banned from returning to The Crystal Forest.
6: Underage drinking will not be tolerated, nor will excessive use of alcoholic beverages.
7: Please be conscious of your noise level. Music should not be played at high levels at any time, and all music and noise must be kept to a minimum after 11pm.
8: Children must be supervised by adults at all times.
9: No alcohol or smoking on Lotus Beach.
10: Careless, destructive, disrespectful, or bothersome conduct will not be tolerated.
Restricted Things:
Glass containers, and glass of any kind
Video camcorders (not allowed at concerts; allowed at seminars only with speaker's permission)
Non-disposable cameras (due to bootleggers)
Tape recorders
Paintball guns (we will provide these)
Animals of any kind
Paint
Weapons or dangerous objects (like Spam)
Large kegs of beer, and excessive amounts of alcohol (personal supply only)
Distribution of promotional material (the only exception to this rule is that promotional material may be left in the Promotional Tent, for others to pick up and check out if they wish)
Nitrous tanks
Fireworks
Woodworking tools
Stickers
Anything that makes others faint, duck or vomit
Underwear that fails to cover your hairy crack
All cars entering The Crystal Forest and Parking Lot will be visually inpected to search for the above listed items. Except that last one. Ew.
